Role objectives

 

Under the guidance of National/ Regional Child Protection and Gender-Based Violence Managers (extenders) and UNICEF Zonal Child Protection Specialist and Child Protection Officers, the Social Work Technical Advisors will be responsible for:

  • Traveling to all provincial and district levels to ensure that all child protection standards, policies, and SOPs are applied across the board;

  • Working closely with provincial level social workers and defining capacity support priorities at provincial and district levels;

  • Providing coaching and mentoring to all social workers and para-social workers through the provinces;

  • Ensuring that all social workers apply the obtained skills and principles in their work for the delivery of quality services to children and women including case management for individual children and their families;

  • Providing technical support to enhance service delivery for the mitigation, prevention and response to child protection and GBV cases;

  • Providing technical support to CPAN, CPAoR members, stakeholders, and other community structures;

  • Any other relevant duty assigned to him/her by the supervisor.

·        # of coaching and mentoring sessions conducted for social workers and para-social workers;

·        # of social workers and para-social workers who received skills building support on child protection standards and principles;

·        # of mapping of capacity gaps and needs conducted at the district and provincial levels;

·        Case Management SOP and CP standards applied in the field.

·        # of provincial and district level capacity building sessions conducted for CPAN and CPAoR members, and other stakeholders.

Key competencies

Education and experience:  
Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields is required: Law, social science, or another relevant technical field 5 year of experience.

Language Requirements:
Ability to read, write and speak local languages and English well.

Skills: 
1. Skills in documenting activities (writing short articles, activity reports, taking pictures...)

2. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a result-oriented manner under demanding working conditions, often with short deadlines.
