| Role objectives |
The Health, Safety, Social & Environmental (HSSE) Coordinator shall report directly to the YIUSEP & YEHCP HSSE Officer & indirectly to the respective City Engineer. S / He, on the other hand, would ensure complete collaboration with Yemen office sectors specialists & Project Managers (PM's). Under the guidance & direct supervision of the Project HSSE Officer, the main duties of the HSSE Coordinator is to facilitate compliance with applicable World Bank (WB) environmental & social standards & our clients HSSE systems & provide advice on preventive measures needed in order to minimize harm resulting from hazards in the critical & high risk sub projects implemented under the Yemen Integrated Urban Services Emergency Project (YIUSEP) & the Yemen Emergency Human Capital Project (YEHCP). The incumbent needs to establish a safe workplace according to our clients Health & Safety (H&S) management systems & foster a culture of attention to HSSE issues in all the phases of the project implementation.
