Responsible for the Workshop supervision of all WFP workshop activity in the Area Office and co-ordinate these activities in accordance to the Procedures,
Role objectives

 Under the direct supervision of immediate supervisor and in co-ordination with all Fleet staff, the incumbent shall perform the following duties:

 

  • Supervise scheduled maintenance & repair, overhaul, reconditioning, modifications, in a most efficient manner with the objective to ensure that all vehicles are maintained to a high standard and roadworthy condition.

  • Assist in the forecasting and requisitioning of spare parts: preparation of orders for spare parts/tires and materials required for the operation and submit these requests for the approval of the Workshop Manager. 

  • Carefully record and maintain an inventory list of all tools & workshop equipment.

  • Provide oversight and supervision to all staff and ensure that the work is carried out to a satisfactory standard as required by the Organisation; including time-keeping and completion of timesheets.

  • Investigate means to constantly reduce the operational costs of the Fleet pertaining to maintenance activities.

  • Responsible for the supervision of tyres management which include maintenance practices, controlling mechanisms and performance monitoring.     

  • Ensure that minimum health and safety requirements are met in full, together with considerations for environmental needs.

  • Responsible to ensure that all staff (persons reporting) carry out their duties in accordance to their Job Descriptions set.

  • Share experiences gained with other staff members and strive towards creating good team building and harmonious atmosphere.

  • Travel occasionally, as required by the Organisation.

  • Will perform any other duties as requested by immediate supervisor.
Project reporting

Liaise and co-operate with all other employees within Fleet and all units within the Organisation with particular emphasis on the Logistics section.
Key competencies

Will ensure that all vehicles and equipment are washed, cleaned and lubricated in a most efficient way ensuring the high standard as required by the organization and within the specified times as established
