Overview of position

About the Role

The Knowledge Hub Intern will support the development, management, and promotion of CTG’s centralised knowledge hub on SharePoint. This hub brings together innovations, achievements, lessons learned, country profiles, news from the field, operational insights, and media; ensuring valuable organisational knowledge is easy to access and actively used.

The role offers high visibility and cross-functional exposure, supporting marketing, communications, bids, client reports, and operational decision-making. The intern will report to the Head of Content and collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organisation.

Role objectives

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will expand as the intern gains experience and may include:

  • Developing and implementing a clear taxonomy and structure for the SharePoint knowledge hub.

  • Acting as a hub coordinator, including training colleagues, briefing subject matter experts, and encouraging SPOCs to maintain content.

  • Proactively engaging with HQ, Creative, and field teams to ensure regular content contributions and active use of the hub.

  • Curating content by reviewing submissions, ensuring relevance, updating outdated information, and maintaining quality standards.

  • Producing weekly summaries highlighting new content, innovations, and key updates.

  • Supporting bids, client reports, and operational documentation by identifying and providing relevant knowledge hub content.

  • Collaborating with Communications and Marketing teams to integrate hub content into briefings, newsletters, and campaigns.

  • Exploring and recommending AI tools or other technologies to provide real-time insights and improve knowledge accessibility.

  • Supporting reporting on hub usage, engagement, and content trends.

Project reporting

This intern will report into the Head of Content but will be actively collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the organisation.

Key competencies

Required Qualifications (Essential)

  • Recent graduate (within the past year) or final-year student in Library and Information Studies, Information Science, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field.

  • Must be based in Cape Town, South Africa and legally eligible to work from South Africa for the duration of the internship.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to translate information into actionable insights.

  • Proactive, adaptable, and confident engaging with diverse stakeholders.

  • Desirable Experience

  • Familiarity with knowledge management systems, SharePoint, or information management platforms.

  • Interest in AI tools, digital innovation, or data analytics.

  • Academic or practical exposure to communications, reporting, research, or content management.

  • Interest in the humanitarian and development sector.

This role has no team management responsibilities.
