Overview of position

CTG is looking for candidates whose experience match the below TOR.

Role objectives
  • Telecommunications tower site selection: Conduct site surveys & select appropriate locations for the construction of telecom towers (both self support & guy wired structures of various heights), ensuring clear lines of sight between sites & accounting for environmental factors such as proximity to high tension power lines, airports & high rise buildings.

  • Site planning & layout: Plan & design the layout of telecom tower sites, ensuring efficient space allocation for tower structures & associated systems.

  • Construction of tower structure foundations: Able to do the construction of strong, secure foundations for both self supporting & guy wired telecommunications towers.

  • Erection of telecommunications towers: Oversee the erection of telecommunications towers, ensuring they comply with safety standards & maintain structural integrity.

  • Installation of transmission lines & antenna systems: Install transmission lines, antennas & communication systems at elevated heights on towers, including microwave antennas, LTE wireless systems, satellite antennas & UAV systems.

  • Periodic modification & structural maintenance: Perform regular inspections, modifications & maintenance on telecommunications towers & systems to ensure adherence to global operational & safety standards.

  • Antenna alignment: Align antenna systems at height to maintain optimal performance & ensure effective signal transmission.

  • Inspection for safety compliance: Conduct inspections of tower structures & support systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations & industry standards.

  • Installation of tower safety protection systems: Install safety protection systems for telecommunications networks, ensuring the utility & related infrastructure are protected.

  • Work at height safety regulations: Implement & strictly adhere to safety regulations & protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) & fall arrest systems when working at height.

Project reporting

This role will report to the line manager.

Key competencies
  • High school diploma in a relevant discipline or equivalent field is required, additional technical or vocational training in telecommunications or related fields is highly desirable.

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in telecommunications rigging, including site selection, tower erection & the installation of telecommunication antennas & transmission lines.

  • A valid rigging certification is mandatory.

  • Fluency in English (oral & written) is required.

  • Basic knowledge of French is an advantage.

Team management

This role has no team management responsibility.
