Overview of position

The Political Affairs Expert will deliver a comprehensive report to the following timeline, to be submitted to UNDP Project Manager and the UNSMIL Chief of Political Affairs Team.

Role objectives

Deliverable No. 1: “Mapping of armed groups”
Deliverable No. 2: “Political Dynamics in the West”
Deliverable No. 3: “Action Plan post June 2022”

Project reporting

to the  Project Manager

Key competencies

University degree (MA) in Political Science, Economics, Public Administration, or other development related areas

At least ten years of progressive experience in monitoring political activities;

At least five years of experience of working with the UN or internal organization in similar role;

Knowledge and understanding of relevant UN and UNDP policies and procedures,

Previous working experience in similar post-conflict environment for UN or the UNDP on political issues is highly desirable.

Excellent communication skills

Good knowledge of the Libyan electoral context

Good organizational skills and attention to detail

Good written and verbal communication skills
