Overview of position

Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Infrastructure & Engineering Delivery responsible for full lifecycle delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects across domestic and international locations. The Senior Project Manager leads multiple concurrent projects, ensuring successful execution from initial concept through to commissioning, handover and operational transition.

Acts as the primary interface between client, subcontractors and internal delivery teams, taking ownership of technical delivery, commercial performance and overall project outcomes.

This role requires strong delivery leadership, technical awareness across electrical and mechanical systems, and the ability to manage complex projects in dynamic and high-pressure environments.

Role objectives

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead full project lifecycle: planning, execution, monitoring, commissioning and handover

  • Manage multiple concurrent, high-value and complex projects

  • Ensure delivery against schedule, budget and quality objectives

  • Take full ownership of project performance, risks and outcomes

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as primary client interface across all project phases

  • Translate client requirements into structured delivery plans and execution strategies

  • Maintain proactive communication with all stakeholders

Planning & Coordination

  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules including dependencies and milestones

  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, production and site execution activities

  • Ensure alignment between internal teams, suppliers and subcontractors

Supplier & Contractor Management

  • Lead selection and coordination of subcontractors and suppliers

  • Oversee procurement inputs, logistics and site delivery requirements

  • Ensure effective execution of external partners

Financial & Commercial Control

  • Own project budgets, forecasting and cost control

  • Identify risks, opportunities and deviations and escalate where required

  • Ensure commercial performance aligns with project targets

Technical Oversight

  • Maintain strong working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems

  • Support development of technical solutions with engineering teams

  • Review and validate technical scope, design intent and execution approach

Site Execution & Commissioning

  • Oversee installation, commissioning and testing activities

  • Coordinate FAT/SAT processes and system validation

  • Ensure structured and successful project handover to operations or service teams

  • Take responsibility for site delivery activities and execution performance

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all work is delivered in line with safety, health and environmental standards

  • Maintain strong focus on quality, documentation and continuous improvement

  • Enforce safe working practices across all project phases

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES (SENIOR LEVEL)

  • Lead delivery of the most complex or high-risk projects

  • Support innovation, pilot and improvement programmes

  • Provide technical and delivery input during pre-sales and bid phases

  • Mentor and support project managers and project engineers

  • Act as escalation point for delivery challenges and project risks

  • Reporting to the Project Director

Education:  

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related technical discipline. PMP, PRINCE2, chartered engineering status or equivalent senior project management qualification  would be desirable.

Experience:  

  • Approximately 12–15+ years of overall experience, with significant experience leading complex, high-value or multi-site infrastructure / MEP / engineering delivery projects. Strong experience in commercial control, client interface, contractor management, commissioning, handover and escalation management would be expected.

Language:  

  • Fluent English required. Dutch, German, French or Nordic languages would be an advantage depending on final country/project location.
