Overview of position

Under overall guidance of the Programme Coordinator and direct supervision of the Project Officer, the Operations Associate will assist in the implementation of the community stabilization activities in Ubari and support the overall work of the Peace, Recovery and solutions Department. 


Role objectives
  • · Provide administrative and logistical support to the Recovery and Solutions (RS) Project Coordinator and Officer in the implementation of the unit’s portfolio in Misrata in coordination with relevant project partners and stakeholders, including government authorities, national and international agencies, NGOs/CSOs, and working groups.  

    ·         Assist in project implementation processes by compiling inputs and supporting the preparation of work plans, procurement plans, and monitoring and evaluation tools, in line with established guidelines.

    ·         Support the identification of challenges during project development and implementation and report observations to the Project Coordinator and Officer.

    ·         Provide regular and timely updates to the Project Coordinator and Officer on and the status of assigned activities, including progress, implementation issues, and follow up actions.

    ·         Maintain regular communication with Project Coordinator and Officer, including timely submissions of reports, meeting minutes, tracking tools, and beneficiary data documentation. 

    ·         Assist in the implementation of livelihood activities including Individual Livelihood Assistance (ILA), Enterprise Development Fund (EDF), skills trainings, and business toolkit distribution, in coordination with field teams and service providers.

    ·         Conduct regular field follow-up with beneficiaries to support data collection on activity implementation, and assist with basic  documentation of success stories and lessons learned.

    ·         Maintain daytoday liaison with local government officials, private sector actors and community members to support the smooth implementation of the project activities.

    ·         Assist in the implementation of the unit’s activities in Misrata to support the timely delivery of planned assistance to the beneficiaries. 

    ·         Support basic tracking of service providers’ and implementation partners’ activities, including maintaining records related to financial tracking, information management and reporting.

    ·         Participate in activity site visits and provide factual observations to the Project Coordinator and Officer.

    ·         Assist in the organization and delivery of capacity building activities related to community stabilization for government institutions, NGOs/CSOs staff and beneficiaries.

    ·         Support the collection of beneficiary testimonies, stories and photos, in line with reporting and visibility requirements.

    ·         Perform any other such duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
