Overview of position

Under the supervision and guidance of the Communication specialist, the assistant will provide logistical and coordination support for field missions, coordinate with media and printing service providers, and contribute to the production and organization of visual and written materials that highlight our client’s response and impact for children and families in Gaza.

Role objectives

Field Documentation Support:

Support the organization of field visits to distribution sites and programme activities to capture photos, videos, and testimonials.

Collect quotes and basic information from families, children, and beneficiaries in alignment with UNICEF ethical standards and consent procedures.

 Follow up with families who provided testimonies in case additional questions arise.

Coordination with LTA Service Providers:

Liaise with our client’s contracted Long-Term Agreement (LTA) photographers/videographers and LTA printing companies to support documentation and visibility assignments.

Follow up on deliverables, ensuring timely submission of quality materials and compliance with agreed standards and formats and visibility requirements.

Content Preparation & Quality Assurance

Support the preparation of accurate captions, verified quotes, and detailed descriptions for materials collected, in line with our client communication guidelines.

Support basic content review to ensure clarity, relevance, and accuracy before submission.

Language & Communication Support:

Communicate effectively in English and Arabic with field teams, partners, and the Communication Section to facilitate smooth coordination and reporting.

Ethical Storytelling & Visibility

Ensure that all materials adhere to our client’s ethical storytelling principles, including informed consent, dignity, and child safeguarding

Payments will be made on a monthly basis upon satisfactory completion and approval of the following deliverables:

Field Documentation & Content Collection:

Minimum of 6 field visits per month (individual or joint missions) documented through photos, videos, and interviews with families and children.

Each field visit must include properly captioned and verified materials (photos, videos, and quotes) following our client communication standards.

Coordination & LTA Follow-up:

Coordinate and follow up with LTA service providers to ensure timely submission of deliverables and quality assurance of materials.

Maintain documentation of assignments and deliverable tracking sheets.

Content Organization & Reporting:

Upload and organize all collected materials in shared folders (photos, videos, quotes) with clear labeling for easy reference.

Submit a Monthly Activity & Progress Report (1–2 pages) summarizing activities, achievements, and materials collected.

Human Interest Content

Support in collecting information and visuals for one Human Interest Story per month, including verified quotes and background information.

Compliance & Learning Requirements:

Completion of mandatory our client online trainings:

Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA)

Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP)

This role reports to the line manager

Key competencies

Bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications, Journalism, or related field, with at least one year of relevant experience in communication, field documentation, or storytelling;     strong English and Arabic skills and basic photography or videography experience preferred.
Strong communication and coordination skills.

Basic photography and videography experience.

Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic.

Attention to detail and accuracy in captions and documentation.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Understanding of ethical storytelling and child safeguarding principles.

Good organizational and file management skills.

Team player with a proactive and flexible attitude.

Team management

The consultant will not be required to manage teams
