Overview of position |
Under the overall guidance of the Unit Chief of Somali Security Forces Support Unit (SSF SU), the Logistics Assistant shall be responsible for provision of logistics support services. |
Role objectives |
Logistics Assistants shall be responsible but not limited to the following: Provides effective and timely planning, oversight, and coordination of logistics support operations. |
Project reporting |
Daily Movement Logs: Track and record all personnel and cargo movements, including CMRs, ATRs, and MOPs. Weekly Operational Summary : Summarize logistics activities, challenges, and support provided to AUSSOM, ATMIS, SSF, and UNCT. Monthly Transition Support Report : Provide a comprehensive update on logistics support aligned with the Somali Transition Plan, including FOB handovers/closures and gender-sensitive planning. Incident and Compliance Reports: Submit reports on any deviations from protocols, safety incidents, or compliance issues on a adhoc basis. |
Key competencies |
Required qualifications and experience for this role: High school diploma is required. Training in logistics, supply chain management, inventory, asset management or another relevant field is desirable. Experience in logistics support to military units and knowledge of tracking and updating inventory records. Working experience in Somalia is an added advantage. fluency in oral and written English is required. A working knowledge of oral and written Somali language is highly desirable.
