Overview of position

Internship objective:

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in technology & innovation, particularly on AI application within the humanitarian and development sector. The role is designed as a learning journey, allowing interns to work on real projects while receiving guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities. At CTG, internships follow the 70-20-10 learning model:

  • 70% on-the-job exposure – shadowing colleagues and contributing to business efficiency by supporting automation initiatives and the use of AI tools.

  • 20% learning from others – guided by a dedicated supervisor, supported by a mentor, and collaborating across teams.

  • 10% formal learning – onboarding briefings, in-house trainings, and access to CTG’s Kaya online training platform.

Role objectives

Intern’s responsibilities:

The intern’s responsibilities will gradually expand with experience:

·        Designing short visual walkthroughs (eg animations, videos) to explain CTG’s operational workflows, system processes, and procedures.

·        Collaborating with team members and subject matter experts to gather information and transform it into engaging, user-friendly content.

·        Converting key SOPs and onboarding topics into podcasts using AI tools (e.g., ElevenLabs) to support training and knowledge sharing.

·        Developing and curating materials, and recommending free online resources, to raise AI awareness and build digital skills across CTG.

·        Supporting the rollout of AI initiatives in areas such as recruitment, training, and reporting, including pilot testing, staff awareness, and adoption.

  • Assisting in the improvement of CTG’s existing applications (e.g., CRM, PO systems).

This intern will report into the Technology Solutions Manager but will be actively communicating with multiple relevant stakeholders across the organisation.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of the internship, the intern will have gained:

  • Practical experience in content design (visual and audio), AI tools, and digital innovation.

  • Exposure to how technology supports operations in the humanitarian sector.

  • Hands-on skills in creating podcasts, animations, and training materials for diverse users.

  • Greater awareness of how AI and digital tools can drive efficiency and learning in real-world projects.

  • Professional development through structured training, learning-by-doing, constructive and regular feedback.

  • Creative and technically skilled in using design and content tools such as Canva, Vyond, Powtoon, or similar.
