Overview of position
  • We are currently expanding our international talent pool for polio eradication activities across Africa, and we are looking for senior experts with proven experience in leading on the implementation on these activities during short- and long-term deployments as per programme needs.

Role objectives

Responsibility:

  • Ensure internal coordination of support provided by our client.

  • Draft & share with the County Office (CO), the Regional Office (RO) & our clients HQ, the regular update on the level of preparation & implementation of the response plan.

  • Collaborate with the the host countries Ministry of Health (MoH)  other UN agencies & relevant partners & stakeholders for the finalization, possible update & monitoring of the implementation of the plan to interrupt the circulation of the virus.

  • Ensure that aspects of vaccine management, social & behavioural change are taken into account.

  • Actively participate in meetings of the national coordination for the response.

  • Design & conduct advocacy, in collaboration with Social Behavioural Change / Vaccine Management Consultants (both national & international staff) & other partners, for full & effective involvement of political & administrative authorities in response activities at all levels.

Activities:

  • Develop a work plan that takes into account the roles & responsibilities related to this consultation.

  • Organize a weekly meeting internally to take stock of preparations. 

  • Prepare a weekly status report (sitrep), describing the actions carried out in relation to the objectives assigned in the work plan to be shared with the country office, the regional office.

  • Write & submit an overall report on the progress of the consultation.

This role reports to the line manager.
