Hart International (sister company to CTG) are pleased to offer this exciting position: Night Porter / Security Watch

Place of Work: Chelsea Parkfields, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. www.parkfields.co.uk / https://chelseaparkfields.com/


  • We are seeking a Night Porter (Security Watch).

  • The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the safety and security of our Guests, and the premises, during night-time hours from 10:00 pm until 7:00 am.

  • Pay rate starts from £12.00 per hour 

  • Must hold SIA



Role objectives

The main responsibilities of the Night Porter / Security Watch will include:

  • Setting up meeting rooms.

  • General cleaning duties of the public areas.

  • Setting up breakfast for our guests.

  • Assisting guests with any requests they may have, including escorting individuals to their vehicles or securing entry points.

  • Serving guests at the bar during the night when required.

  • Regular security checks and maintaining security of the building, conduct routine inspections of doors, windows, and other access points to ensure they are properly secured.

  • Being the onsite first aider / fire warden in the absence of Management.

  • Ensuring all key areas of the House remain secure and key items remain locked when not in use. 

Project reporting
  • Report any faulty equipment to the relevant management promptly. 

  • Be familiar with current licensing regulations. 

  • Maintain accurate records of all security-related incidents, including the details of any disturbances or breaches and ensure information is passed on to the relevant department.

  • Help to maintain a good working environment within the department and good working relationships with all venue departments.  

  • Enforce company security policies and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.

  • Carry out any other reasonable requests made by the General Manager or Duty Manager. 

  • Accept reasonable changes or additions in work hours, which are necessary for the maintenance of uninterrupted service to venue guests and patrons. 

  • Remain alert and attentive throughout the shift, responding quickly and effectively to any security-related issues.

Key competencies
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.

  • Hold current basic first aider at work certification or higher.

  • Holder of a current SIA licence (door supervisor or frontline licence)

  • Report all potential and real hazards immediately. 

  • Be fully conversant with all departmental Fire, Emergency, and evacuation procedures. 

  • Attend all fire, health and safety training.

  • Ensure the safety of the persons and the property of all within the premises by fairly applying venue Regulations, by strict adherence to existing laws, statues and applicable ordinances, and reporting any possible hazards and conditions to the Manager. 

  • Have a general awareness of Health and Safety in relation to all tasks and activities undertaken in the department. 

  • Physical fitness and ability to perform regular patrols and inspections.

  • Re-use and recycle where possible. 

  • Flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance security skills and knowledge.

Team management

Working Conditions:

Night shifts, typically ranging from late evening to early morning hours.

Potential for irregular hours, especially during peak seasons or special events.

Premises are in a remote location own transportation is essential.
